Duties: Fun nights are organized and run by Tappan staff and supported by the PTSO. Volunteers are needed to set up and clean up, monitor activities (ex: board game room, gym, dodge ball, jewelry making, dancing), and serve food. This is an easy and fun way to support Tappan students and get a glimpse into middle school life!
Time Commitment:
Set-Up (5 - 6pm) Assist in setting up the event.
Event (6- 8pm) Monitoring activities and games, serving food, etc.
Clean-Up (8 - 8:30pm) Cleaning the area and packing away anything that needs it.
Duties: Volunteer to help staff the school store. Tappan students are involved in running the store and need supervision and support with checkout and stocking duties.
Time Commitment: Volunteer hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:50 - 3:25pm. Your time commitment would be 35 mins each shift.
Duties: Help staff our Fall Festival on October 19! We need lots of volunteers to make this fun event a success. You can help with a game, ticket sales, food sales, raffle, set-up or clean-up. The event time is 3pm - 6pm not including set up and clean up.
Time Commitment: We're looking for volunteers to help out in 1 hour shifts. This way, everyone can still have a great time at the event with their families.
Duties: Volunteer at the concession table at Tappan events such as curriculum night and conferences as well as band/orchestra/choir/theater performances. Volunteers will sell snacks, handle payments, set up and restock, and keep the area tidy.
Time Commitment: Shifts typically last 1 hour, but any assistance that allows our parent volunteers to participate in conferences or events is greatly appreciated.
Duties: There are many ways to support the Tappan Players’ annual spring theater production! You can help by monitoring students backstage, building sets, selling tickets, providing meals and snacks to the cast and crew during tech week, decorating, and ushering.
Time Commitment: Volunteer time will be concentrated in the week leading up to and on the day of the performance. Shifts will vary based on your volunteer role. Please reach out for more information.
Duties: Volunteers help with setting up decorations, supervising activities and games, and ensuring everyone is having fun. They assist with serving food and drinks and help with clean-up afterward. Their support makes the celebration safe and enjoyable for all students.
Time Commitment: This is a one-time volunteer event. You can sign up for a shift of 2-3 hours, for set-up, or for clean-up.
Duties: Volunteer at a staff appreciation event assist with setting up, greeting staff, serving food and drinks, and helping with activities. Contribute to clean-up efforts to ensure the event runs smoothly. Their support is crucial in creating a warm and enjoyable atmosphere for staff recognition.
Time Commitment: We will have multiple opportunities for staff appreciation throughout the year, and the time commitment will vary.
Duties: Create a welcoming and safe garden space by planning each growing season and working with teachers to create opportunities for students to visit the garden during the school day. Manage volunteers, plan and execute garden maintenance.
Time Commitment: One hour shifts will be needed in the garden. These shifts will be available in the fall and spring.
